BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Western Michigan women's tennis competed at the Hoosier Classic on the campus of Indiana University this weekend to continue its 2019 fall schedule.
On Friday, the Broncos earned a winning record as a team in singles action, going 5-4 in their nine matches.
Sophomore
Kaitlyn Rogosch went undefeated in three singles contests, including a three set victory over Andreea Craciun from Wright State on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
Junior
Valerie Riegraf, freshman
Lindsey Zieglar and junior
Jeryn Jack all went 2-1 as individuals on the weekend, earning wins against various opponents representing Wright State, Cincinnati and Marquette.
Sophomore
Taylor Smith collected her first singles victory of the season, defeating Anna Marie Reynolds of Wright State in straight sets on day one of the event.
In doubles play, the sophomore team of
Femke Tjon-A-Joe and
Kristina Tiraspolsky won two of their three matches, outscoring opponents 12-3 in sets over their two victories.
Western Michigan will host the WMU Fall Invite in two weeks at the Sorensen Courts in Kalamazoo.
