KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's tennis team will continue its fall competitive schedule at the Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Ind. This is the seventh straight season that the Broncos will be competing at a fall tournament at Indiana University.
Last season at the Hoosier Classic, both
Femke Tjon-A-Joe and
Taylor Smith earned their first collegiate career singles victories.
WMU and Indiana will be joined by student-athletes representing Xavier, Wright State, Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette, Bowling Green, Miami and Middle Tennessee State. Competition will commence this Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. with one round of singles and two rounds of doubles at the IU Tennis Center.
The Broncos are coming off of two tournaments to open their 2019 fall competitive schedule last weekend. At the Bradley Invitational, sophomore
Kaitlyn Rogosch and junior
Jeryn Jack teamed up to finish fourth in the doubles red bracket. At the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, sophomore
Kristina Tiraspolsky defeated Lanie Van Linge from Michigan in straight sets.
