KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's basketball team's 2019-20 season is fast approaching, and with it the team will be able to carry the memories of their international trip to France this past August.

The Broncos spent August 18-25 in France on a trip funded by the team's generous boosters and were able to experience the sights of the city of Paris and the humbling war memorials at Normandy with some competition against international teams along the way.

"I think the France trip really opened our eyes to what we need to work on and what we have, what our potential could be, and it was really good team bonding," fifth-year senior Breanna Mobley said. "We had experiences that if we weren't a part of Western Michigan basketball, we'd probably never have."

After spending their first three nights in Bayeux, Normandy the team took on Paris with a bike tour of the city, a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower, and two more games over the course of their last four days in France. The Brown & Gold went 2-1 overall overseas, playing French professional teams and getting an early chance to showcase rookie talent alongside the veteran players. "France was an amazing experience and I'm just blessed that our team got to have that," sophomore Jordan Walker said. "I think as a team it helped us bond, get together on the court, cheer each other on and see how we look this year. I'm really excited to get the season started."
