COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Michigan hockey senior forwards Hugh McGing and Wade Allison have been named to the 2019-20 National Collegiate Hockey Conference Preseason All-Conference team, as selected by league and national media.
McGing garnered the most votes out of any forward, 22, and the third-most votes on the team as a whole. The St. Louis Blues' draft pick, who will be captaining the team this year, was a Second Team All-NCHC selection last season after putting up a career-high 30 points on 16 goals and 14 assists. His goal tallied tied him for the team lead, with 11 of them coming in NCHC play.
Allison had an injury shortened season that still saw him produce 15 points on eight goals and seven assists in just 22 games. The Philadelphia Flyers' draft pick has battled injuries over the past two seasons but has averaged nearly a point per game in his career with 74 on 35 goals and 39 assists in 80 career games.
McGing and head coach Andy Murray head to the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday for the annual NCHC Media Day. McGing will be taking over the NCHC's twitter account, @TheNCHC, from 10:30-10:45 a.m. ET.
