THREE RIVERS, MICH. – The Western Michigan women's basketball team held their 13
th Annual Golf Outing on Aug. 4 at the Pine View Golf Club in Three Rivers, celebrating the Broncos and their upcoming season with fans, supporters, and generous sponsors.
The day's events included a Hole in One and Longest Putt contest, along with opportunities to meet the 2019-20 team and staff. At the afternoon's award program, Head Coach
Shane Clipfell discussed the team's goals for the season, plans for their upcoming trip to France on Aug. 17, and announced the joining of Bronco alum
Meredith Shipman to the coaching staff.
"Just when we think our golf outing couldn't get any better, it does," Clipfell commented. We had our biggest field and possibly our most generous group of golfers. And as always, Pine View was a terrific host for our event! We had many people in the room that have been to all 13 of these annual outings as well as some newcomers. We are very grateful for each and every person who participated whether it was as a sponsor, volunteer, golfer, or dinner guest. This has always been our biggest fundraiser of the year and it is the biggest reason we are taking our team to France. We could not do this without this event."
Sponsors of the outing included Shafer Concrete, Morgan Stanley, Cole Krum Chevrolet, Nord Jewelers, Sweetwater Donuts, Davis and Davis Insurance and Real Estate, Indian Trails, Maggie's Café and Catering, Maui Beach Tan, State Farm, Matt Watts Realty, Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Rhino's Hometown Pub, Rick and Eva Frecker, Michael Holton, Kel Keefer, Mike and Rosanne Holton, Cindy and Greg Kalvin, and several other businesses, fans, and families.
