KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan men's soccer team and head coach Chad Wiseman have announced the signing of midfielder Landon Fisher for the upcoming 2019 season.

Fisher, measuring in at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, comes to WMU after graduating from Concord High School in Elkhart, Ind. He was a two-time all-conference selection during his junior and senior years and was named Second Team All-State during his final year. Fisher was a four-year letterwinner and captained the team during his junior and senior seasons. He was also on the National Honors Society during his final two years.

"Landon is a prospect we had been monitoring for quite some time and he really took some giant steps forward in the last few months," said Wiseman. "He has a great feel for the game in the middle of the park and a high soccer IQ that makes him very good in combination play and possession. He has some bite to his game that not all players possess and his fitness levels are phenomenal. Landon has a confidence and a competitive drive in him that is contagious and a work ethic that is second to none. He has all the qualities of a player that really thrives in our program and our style of play. We are very excited about what Landon will bring to the locker room, team and Western Michigan University."

Fisher played his club soccer locally with the Kalamazoo Kingdom and helped his team to a 2019 Michigan State Cup Championship.

The WMU men's soccer team opens up the 2019 season Aug. 15 with its annual Brown & Gold Game at 5 p.m. before hosting Wright State for an exhibition game on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 2 p.m. Admission to all WMU men's soccer games is free.
