Women's Track & Field | May 25, 2019
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., -- The Western Michigan track and field season came to an end on Friday, with Sarah Anderson and Erin Dowd just falling shy of advancing to the NCAA Championships at the NCAA East Preliminaries at the University of North Florida.
Sarah Anderson capped off an amazing season, finishing just two places short and .11 seconds of moving on. Anderson ran a time of 2:06.25, taking fourth in her heat and 16th overall in the 800-meter run. To move on she needed to finish in the top three of her heat or have one of the top three times after the automatic qualifiers.
Dowd finished sixth in her heat and had the 18th-best time in the 400-meter hurdles at 58.75 seconds.
Both wrap up their seasons after successfully defending their MAC titles from 2018, with Anderson repeating in the 800 and Dowd in the 400 hurdles.
