KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan football program and head coach Tim Lester have announced a home game against Illinois State for the 2021 season.
The ninth meeting between the Redbirds will take place on Sept. 11, 2021 at Waldo Stadium. WMU holds a 7-1 record in the all-time series against ISU. The last meeting between the teams came back on Aug. 31, 2001 in a 48-7 home win for the Broncos.
The Illinois State game completes the non-conference schedule for the 2021 season. WMU opens at Michigan State on Sept. 4 before hosting the Redbirds. WMU then travels to Pitt on Sept. 18 and wraps up the non-conference schedule hosting San Jose State on Sept. 25.
