CLEVELAND – Five student-athletes from the Western Michigan women's tennis program have been named Academic All-Mid-American Conference, as released by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

Senior Denise Azcui (3.94 GPA, industrial and entrepreneurial engineering), senior Katja Fevralev (3.53, fashion merchandise and design), senior Melina Lyubomirova (3.67, management), junior Valerie Reigraf (3.24, sport management) and Gabriela Slovova (3.69, integrated supply management) were all honored for their prowess on the court and in the classroom.'

Nominees must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average to be eligible for the team.

This is the third time Azcui and Lyubomirova earned the honors, claiming a spot on the team in all three years they were eligible. Slovova is a repeat honoree from last season, while Reigraf earns the honors for the first time in her career with the Broncos. Azcui adds to her growing list of accolades for the season. She was a Second Team All-MAC selection, was named a WMU Presidential Scholar and, recently, earned the ITA Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership & Sportsmanship Regional Award for the second straight season.
