COLUMBUS, Ohio – Strong performances in the sprints and middle distance highlighted Western Michigan track and field's final day of competition at the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University
Junior Erin Dowd once again stood out, finishing fifth overall in the 400-meter dash after running a personal-best time of 54.57 seconds. Junior Madison Meredith had WMU's top finish on the day, taking second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.63 seconds. The time would have broken the program record if not for a wind rating of 2.9. Meredith also went on to run her fastest time of the season in the 200-meter dash at 24.65 seconds, taking eighth overall.
Junior Sarah Anderson took sixth place in the 800-meter run after finishing with a time of 2:09.40.
