KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and the WMU football program have announced contracts to play home-and-home series with San Jose State and Marshall.
The first-ever game between the Broncos and the Spartans will take place at Waldo Stadium on Sept. 25, 2021. WMU heads to SJSU, who plays in the Mountain West Conference, the following season on Sept. 24.
The Broncos and the Thundering Herd rekindle the rivalry in Huntington, W.Va., on Sept. 14, 2024. Western Michigan hosts Marshall on Sept. 6, 2025. WMU leads the all-time series against MU, 22-12. The last meeting between the two programs came on Nov. 20, 2004, a 31-21 loss at Marshall.
