KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over the University of Toledo Sunday afternoon inside West Hills Athletic Club during Senior Day. 

The 2019 senior class of Denise Azcui, Katja Fevralev, and Melina Lyubomirova were honored prior to the match and each came away with singles victories for the Broncos. WMU improves to 4-1 in the MAC and closes out its home schedule with an 11-3 record. 

WMU took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two and won the first three points during singles competition to clinch the match. Fevralev and Lyubomirova both won in two sets to give the Broncos a 3-0 lead, followed by a Femke Tjon-A-Joe 6-2, 7-6 (5) win at court four to seal the victory. 

"What a great way to wrap up our home schedule," said head coach Ryan Tomlinson. "The team got a gritty win and all three seniors won on senior day. I can't say enough what those three mean to me and this program, playing at home for the last time can be very emotional and they handled it like the veterans they are. We have a tough weekend ahead and look forward to the challenge."
