KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision versus the University at Buffalo Friday afternoon inside West Hills Athletic Club, falling to 10-8 overall and 2-1 during Mid-American Conference play.Â
WMU took the first doubles win at court two, as Melina Lyubomirova and Femke Tjon-A-Joe won their fourth consecutive doubles match. UB answered moments later with a win a court three, leaving the deciding point to the No. 1 spot. Buffalo's Martinez Blanco & Antoniou then took down Fevralev/Tiraspolsky to claim the point.
The Bulls opened singles play earning wins on courts six and three while Lyubomirova won at the No. 1 spot as the visitors took a 3-1 lead. Denise Azcui then won a three-set match at court two to trim the Buffalo lead to 3-2, but a UB win at court four sealed the road victory.
