CLEVELAND, Ohio - Freshman midfielder
Charlie Sharp was named Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference on Tuesday morning. The Broncos now lead the MAC with three Player of the Week honors this season, with senior forward
Anthony Bowie winning the award twice.
Sharp scored twice over two victories for the Broncos last week, which included the game winner against Oakland on Wednesday. He also scored in the MAC opener at West Virginia on Sunday, putting the Mountaineers away in the final minutes of play.
Charlie is now tied with Bowie for the team lead in goals with five. The native of Brighton, Mich., is currently ranked second in MAC freshman scoring behind Rodrigo Robles Grajera of West Virginia.
Sharp was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Tuesday.
The Broncos will head to Ann Arbor for a non-conference match against Michigan on Thursday.
