KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team and head coach
Ryan Tomlinson has announced the signing of future Bronco
Lindsey Zieglar to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, Jan. 16. Zieglar will be eligible to compete for the Brown & Gold starting next season.Â
A two-time Best of Volusia/Flagler Florida Female Tennis Player of the Year, Zieglar comes to Western Michigan as a native of Daytona Beach, Fla. At Port Orange Atlantic High School, Lindsey and her older sister, Kristina, won the 2016 Florida High School (FHSAA) 2A Overall Doubles Championship. The pair was undefeated in 2016 at 25-0 while Lindsey went 22-0 in singles competition. In 2017, Zieglar led Port Orange Atlantic to a runner-up finish at the class 2A state championships.Â
"I couldn't be more excited to welcome Lindsey to the Bronco tennis family," commented Tomlinson. "She is coming from a very tough Florida section where she has had a great junior career. I can't wait for her to step foot on campus and get to work. Lindsey will have an immediate impact in our lineup."
