The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

A total of 27 student-athletes were named to the team from this past season. The Broncos along with Buffalo and Toledo led the way with four on the 2018 team while Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois followed behind with three each.

In her first year of eligibility Slavova earned the award while Azcui, Fevralev and Lyubomirova are three of thirteen two-time All-MAC selections this year.

Head Coach Ryan Tomlinson stated,"I couldn't be more proud of these four being named Academic All-MAC. They are true student-athletes. People don't understand how hard it is to balance everything that is on these student-athletes plates."
