KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Sunday's doubleheader between Western Michigan and Bowling Green has been canceled due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions.
Sunday's doubleheader between the Broncos and Falcons was originally scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. However, mother nature intervened forcing a two-hour delay and pushing back the scheduled start time to 3:00 p.m.
It looked as if the Broncos and Falcons were to play at 3:00 p.m. before weather in the Kalamazoo area took a turn covering the field with sleet and ice. Officials ruled the field unplayable and the doubleheader was canceled.
In game one on Friday, the Broncos rattled off 16 hits en route to a 9-4 victory over BGSU. It was the second straight game WMU has recorded double digit hits.
The Broncos continue their homestand with two midweek games hosting Oakland on Tuesday, April 17 and Michigan State on Wednesday, April 18. First pitch for both games is set for 1:00 p.m. at Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.
