KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In the final home game of the regular season, Western Michigan men's basketball fell to in-state rival Eastern Michigan, 74-58 on Tuesday night inside University Arena.
The Broncos with an overall record of 17-13 and 9-8 in Mid-American Conference play, wrap up the regular season at Central Michigan on Friday, March 2. With one game remaining, WMU is currently the No.6 seed if the MAC Tournament were to begin today. Western Michigan can still earn a first-round bye in the 2018 MAC Tournament.
Western Michigan had two score in double figures with junior
Josh Davis leading the way with 13 points. Davis was 5-of-8 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. The junior guard also tallied two rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes played.

Brandon Johnson with 10 points to go along with six rebounds.
On Senior Night, guard
Thomas Wilder played 38 minutes, scoring nine points and collecting two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Wilder is now a mere three points away from becoming the second player in program history to record 2,000 career points.
Fellow senior
Drake LaMont recorded a solid stat line for the Broncos, registering six points, seven rebounds and two assists on 3-of-6 shooting from the field. Junior
Bryce Moore set a new career-high with five assists to go with six points and four rebounds.
As a team, WMU shot 37.3 percent from the field and a season-low 21.4 percent from three. The Broncos outrebounded the Eagles, 35-29 and dominated the offensive glass, 13-5. The Brown & Gold continued to shoot well from the free-throw line, going 11-of-13.
Eastern Michigan had four players score in double figures with Paul Jackson recording a game-high 21 points on four three-pointers made. WMU committed ten turnovers on the night with EMU taking advantage, scoring 20 points off those turnovers.
The Eagles flew out to an early lead to start the game as EMU went on a 20-0 run to grab a 27-10 lead midway through the first half. WMU countered with a 9-0 run to cut the Eagle lead to single digits with just under five minutes left in the first.
Near the end of the first half, neither team was able to get the ball in the baskets as WMU and EMU went a combined 2-of-18 the final four minutes of play. Eastern Michigan went to the locker room with a 35-24 halftime lead.
In the second half, WMU stormed out of the gate with an 8-2 run to cut the lead down to five with 15 minutes remaining. That was the closest the Broncos got in the second half as EMU made its next four shots, with two being three-pointers to push the lead back to double digits.
EMU led by as many as 20 in the second half thanks to the Eagles making five of seven field goals while the Broncos went scoreless for nearly four minutes. Down the stretch the Bronco offense got hot, making five of the last seven field goals but was not enough in the home defeat.
