Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan women's basketball team fell at home to Central Michigan Saturday, 78-62. The Broncos will look to bounce back Wednesday, hosting Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m.

Central Michigan used hot shooting to race out to a 33-12 lead after one quarter against the Broncos. The Chippewas went 7-for-7 from behind the arc in the first 10 minutes and were 12-for-23 from downtown for the game. Western Michigan outscored or played even with CMU the remaining three quarters, but could not overcome the big start.

Rebounding and free throw attempts also played into the Broncos' downfall. The Chippewas owned the advantage on the boards, 46-22, and were 16-for-20 from the free throw line while the Broncos were just 5-for-6. CMU shot 51 percent in the game from the floor while WMU connected on 36.8 percent.

Three Broncos scored in double figures. Senior Marley Hill finished with 13 points and hit a three at the halftime buzzer. Junior Breanna Mobley totaled 12 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. Freshman Jordan Walker had 10 points, five steals and three rebounds. Senior LaTondra Brooks and freshman Nina Farkic each chipped in nine points.

Junior Presley Hudson led the charge for Central Michigan, scoring a game-high 31 points. She hit seven three-pointers and shot 10 -or-13 from the floor and 4 -or-4 from the free throw line. Tinara Moore had 13 points and eight rebounds. Cassie Breen added 11 points and seven rebounds for CMU.

The Broncos forced Central Michigan into 23 turnovers and committed just seven of their own. CMU's largest lead was 26 points, which WMU was able to cut down to 14 after Najee Smith hit a three-pointer with 2:49 remaining in the third quarter.

Western Michigan's record slips to 14-14 overall and 7-9 in the Mid-American Conference. Central Michigan improved to 23-4 overall and 15-1 in the MAC.
