BOISE, Idaho – The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl announced the game's annual Humanitarian Award winners Monday, recognizing Western Michigan's Jamauri Bogan and BYU's Adam Pulsipher for their exemplary work in their respective communities.

The duo will be presented with their awards Monday, at the conclusion of the Albertsons Tackle Hunger event at Bishop Kelly High School. The Tackle Hunger event, which begins at 4 p.m., will see student-athletes BYU and Western Michigan compete against each other to see which team can package the most meals in one hour. The meals will be distributed to Treasure Valley families for the next several months.

Bogan has been a servant leader since he arrived in Kalamazoo in 2014. He has represented Western Michigan on the Mid-American Conference's Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is a leader of the WMU Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which meets weekly.

Bogan is also the current Vice President of the WMU chapter of Uplifting Athletes and helped organize a Touchdown Pledge Drive this October, with proceeds raised going towards rare disease awareness and rare disease research.

In recent weeks, Bogan worked with the Twelve Baskets organization, a food bank serving South Central Michigan, to collect donations for Thanksgiving food baskets. In October, he worked with WMU Administration to establish a mentorship program for male African-American student-athletes at Western Michigan.

Bogan has been involved in countless other community projects during his time at WMU. He works with students at Tree of Life Elementary School and has mentored student-athletes at Loy Norrix High School. During an internship with Goodwill, he served in the organization's GED program. In 2015 he organized a clothing drive for the Bahamas after the island was struck by a tropical storm, following the Broncos' Bahamas Bowl visit.

Bogan has been Western Michigan's nomination for the Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service," each of the last two seasons.

In addition to leaving his mark on the community, Bogan has etched his name throughout the Western Michigan football record book. He enters the 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl ranked second in school history with 42 career rushing touchdowns and sixth all-time at WMU with 3,265 career rushing yards. He is fifth among active FBS players in career touchdowns and 13th for career rushing yards. This season he has 15 rushing TDs, which leads all touchdown scorers in the Mid-American Conference and is eighth most in the nation.

A two-time all-conference selection, Bogan was named the 2015 MAC Freshman of the Year after rushing for 16 touchdowns and 1,051 yards. He was also named the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl Offensive MVP after rushing for career-high 215 yards and four TDs against Middle Tennessee.

Pulsipher was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which honors the best football scholar-athlete in the nation. In his own community, Pulsipher volunteers his time to provide tutoring in multiple academic disciplines at the Boys & Girls Club, as well as organizing hospital visits for the Cougar football team. He is the co-chair of BYU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Bogan and Pulsipher will lead their teams in the 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Friday (Dec. 21), at 2 p.m. MT at Albertsons Stadium on the campus of Boise State University.
