CLEVELAND – The weekly honors keep rolling in for Western Michigan men's basketball senior center
Seth Dugan as he was named Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.
On Monday Dugan was named MAC West Player of the Week after averaging 21 points and 14.5 rebounds in two games. Dugan registered a career performance last Tuesday, scoring a career-high 32 points to go along with 22 rebounds in an 89-76 victory over Detroit Mercy.
Dugan became just the second player in program history to have a 30-point, 20-rebound game and the first to collect at least 20 rebounds in a game since 1994. In an 85-77 overtime victory on Tuesday at Oakland, the Otsego, Mich., native played a career-high 42 minutes and collected his second double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The senior center ranks second in the MAC in scoring at 20.7 points per game and ranks first in the conference with 13.0 rebounds per game. Nationally, Dugan ranks second in the NCAA in rebounds per game and 14
th in total rebounds.
In the classroom, Dugan holds a 3.97 grade point average in finance. Last season Dugan earned Academic All-MAC and MAC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honors. The seven-footer was also named
CoSIDA Academic All-District.
