KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's basketball will hold walk-on tryouts for the 2018-19 season on Friday, Oct. 19 from 12-1:00 p.m. inside University Arena.
To try out for a Western Michigan varsity athletic team, youÂ
MUSTÂ be a current full-time student at WMU.
The tryout will give prospective competitors the chance to demonstrate their skills and talents. Please note that participating in the tryout doesÂ
NOTÂ guarantee a spot on the 2018-19 team under any circumstance.
Listed below are the requirements that you will need to meet in order to be permitted to try out on Oct. 19. All materials must be submitted to the director of basketball operations,
Aimee Luurtsema, no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15. There will beÂ
NO EXCEPTIONS.
Current, full-time students will need the following:
- A current class schedule showing that you are enrolled as a full-time student
- Photo ID
- Proof of Insurance
- A current physical, including sickle cell test for a physician
A physical, a sickle cell test, and insurance paperwork MUST be completed and submitted prior to the 19th. A PDF of the required physical form, as well as insurance form can be downloaded from the link at the top of this page.
Sickle Cell forms can be picked up in the Athletic Training room inside Read Fieldhouse. A copy of the results should be turned in with physical and proof of insurance. Physicals and sickle cell test may be done on campus at the Sindecuse Center or by a family physician.
