DEKALB, Ill. – Western Michigan women' s tennis fell in a tight contest on the road Friday afternoon at Northern Illinois, as the Huskies came away with a 4-3 win over the Broncos.

The Huskies came out and grabbed the doubles point early, earning wins at No. 1 and No. 3 while the court was tied at No. 2 when NIU clinched. In singles play, senior Barbare Eristavi kept her good spring going with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 to improve to a team-best 24-7 overall and 6-1 in the MAC. She also moved her winning streak to a team-high six matches while senior Tracy Kuhle moved her winning streak to four matches with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Denise Azcui earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 to put WMU up 3-2, but the Huskies won at No. 1 and No. 2 to clinch the match.
The Broncos will host DePaul for senior day on Sunday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at Sorensen Courts or West Hills, depending on weather.
