KALAMAZOO, Mich. – In its first and only exhibition of the season, three broncos scored in double figures as the Western Michigan women's basketball team defeated Lake Superior State, 72-59, on Friday evening inside University Arena.

In her first appearance with the Brown & Gold, redshirt junior transfer
Jasmyn Walker led all players with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and dished out three assists. Preseason All-MAC West nominee
Breanna Mobley picked up right where she left off, scoring 14 points with seven rebounds while redshirt senior
Marley Hill added 11 points and five rebounds.

Leighah-Amori Wool scored their first points as Broncos in the second half.
As a team the Broncos shot 43.6 percent from the field while playing stiff defense, forcing the Lakers to commit 19 turnovers and grabbing 10 steals on the evening.
WMU jumped out to a 12-point lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Broncos dominated down low as 10 of their 20 points occurred in the paint during the first quarter. Mobley delivered a strong second quarter performance scoring 12 points, helping WMU take a 47-28 lead into the half. The Lakers outscored the Broncos in the third to cut their deficit heading into the final quarter but WMU hung on and took the 13-point victory.
The Broncos officially begin the 2017-18 season next Friday, Nov. 10 at New Mexico before traveling to New Mexico State on Nov. 12. WMU's first home game of the season occurs on Nov. 30 when the Broncos host Olivet College.
