Sydney LeMay, Quiana Ware and Rachel Bontrager all reached double-digit kills on the night, led by LeMay's 12. Ware finished with 11, while Bontrager had 10 to go with her 10 digs for a double-double. Mary Murphy finished with 42 assists, while Kathleen Reilly had a match-high 35 digs. WMU committed 32 attack errors on the night and was held to a .113 hitting percentage.

After a back-and-forth start to the first set, WMU wrestled control with a 5-2 run to take a 12-9 lead. WMU never trailed for the rest of the set and took the win 25-21. LeMay and Ware each had four kills in the set, while the Broncos held the Rockets to a .059 hitting percentage.

The two teams traded small leads to open the second set, but after being tied at 9-9 Toledo rattled off a 4-0 run to gain some distance and take a 13-9 lead. The Broncos battled back with a 4-0 run to tie it up at 14-14 on kills by Willow Martin, LeMay, Murphy and Ware. A serve error on the Broncos sparked another 4-0 run by UT to take an 18-14 lead. WMU chipped away at the lead and got as close as 19-18 but were unable to get over the threshold and fell 25-22.

Toledo took an early 8-4 lead to open the third set and extended it to 14-8. WMU twice got within three points of the Rockets and then cut the lead to two, 17-15, after a block by Martin. UT responded with a 2-0 run, which the Broncos matched with their own to keep within two at 19-17 but the Rockets pushed the lead to 22-17 and closed out the set 25-19.

Toledo jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the fourth and final set. WMU battled back and eventually cut the lead to 16-13 but the Rockets kept the Broncos at bay, winning the set 25-21.
