KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team suffered its third Mid-American Conference match Friday afternoon in overtime to the Ohio Bobcats at the WMU Soccer Complex. Following the day, the Broncos are now 8-5-1 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play.

The Broncos dominated play in the first half, holding a 7-0 corner kick advantage while outshooting their opponent 10-3 in the first 45 minutes.
WMU came out strong in the second as junior
Alyssa Burke got the offense going with a near miss in the 45
th minute. The junior was able to get a quality shot on goal but just missed as her shot hit the near post. Senior
Emma Kahn ignited the Broncos just seven minutes later, putting WMU ahead 1-0 in the 53
rd minute. The goal was the forward's third of the season and 23rd career, just two short of tying the WMU program record.
Ohio would even the score in the 77
th minute off the its third corner of the game. The goal was the first goal allowed for the Broncos off a set piece this season. The Bobcats continued to mount the pressure and recorded the game-winner in the first minute of overtime to take the victory.
The Broncos outshot the Bobcats 21-10 overall, landing a 6-3 shot on goal advantage. Redshirt senior

Western Michigan is back in action on Sunday, Oct. 15, hosting Kent State for its eighth MAC game of the season and its final regular-season home contest. WMU will honor its seven seniors before the game in

Alyssa Smith. The Broncos will hit the road for their remaining three games of the regular season at Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois.
