KALAMAZOO - The Western Michigan football team announced the addition of Nick Uhlenhopp to the staff as the director of operations after working for six years at Iowa State.
"I want to thank Jessica Larmony for all she's done for us, not only for our football program, but our entire university," head coach P.J. Fleck said. "She is a tireless worker and we will miss her as she pursues other professional opportunities."
"Nick Uhlenhopp comes to us from Iowa State. He spent alot of years as the DFO for Paul Rhoades. Having connections with Paul Rhoades, I knew this was going to be a perfect fit. Being able to hire Nick was an opportunity I couldn't pass up and it was an easy match for both of us. He's got tireless work ethic and has made a name for himself in our profession. Nick and his wife Andrea have a daughter Laney and have another one on the way and we welcome them into our family with open arms."
Uhlenhopp served in his role of assistant director of football operations at Iowa State since 2013, handling team travel, camps and overseeing community service events. He was also the liaison with NFL scouts and the Gridiron Club.
From 2010-13 Uhlenhopp was an assistant recruiting coordinator at Iowa State. He formerly managed the day-to-day operations of the recruiting office and managed all aspects of Iowa State's walk-on program, as well as coordinating official visits.
The 2002 Graceland graduate spent three years as the director of football operations at Western Kentucky after working five seasons in the Boston College football office.
