KEARNEY, Neb. -- Incoming Western Michigan hockey freshman Wade Allison capped off his final year in the United States Hockey League leading the Tri-City Storm to the Clark Cup Championship after the Storm defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints 4-1 on Friday night.
Allison had an assist and a goal on the night and was named the Clark Cup Playoffs MVP after tallying 16 points in 11 games, including nine goals and three that were game-winners.
In the Clark Cup Finals he tallied five goals and four assists in the three-game sweep.
Allison has had a banner year in his first year in the USHL after scoring 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points during the regular season. He did the most damage in the second half of the season and saw his stock rise for the upcoming 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Allison was ranked 192nd by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau but then jumped to 62 in the final rankings for skaters from North America.
