IRVING, Texas – The Western Michigan football team had two players named to the 2016 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society this week. Senior offensive lineman Jon Jackson and J. Schroeder each earned the award.
Jackson has a 3.33 GPA in Sport Management and helped the Broncos secure the second-best rushing attack in the MAC in 2015 and a top-30 attack in the country. Schroeder, who was in charge of punting duties for WMU in 2015, owns a 3.29 GPA in Political Science: Public Law and was a 2015 Preseason Nominee for the Ray Guy Award.
The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced today the members of the 2016 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career. A total of 868 players from 275 schools qualified for membership as the society celebrates its 10th year, setting a new record for the number of players honored during the history of the program.
