CLEVELAND – Western Michigan senior offensive lineman Taylor Moton has been named Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Moton, who holds a 3.28 GPA in accounting,  led an offensive line that rushed for 329 yards in the 14th-ranked Broncos' 37-21 win over Kent State last Tuesday. Moton has helped WMU to the 11th best rushing attack in the nation with an average of over 250 yards per game. He is ranked No. 1 in the country by the Schneider's Scale, which is used to help determine the Outland Trophy winner. With Moton's help, the Broncos have rushed for over 300 yards three times this year.

No. 14 Western Michigan is back in action on Saturday, hosting Buffalo at 3:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Tickets are available by calling 1-888-4-WMUTIX or visiting WMUBroncos.com. Saturday is also an historic day for the WMU football program, as ESPN College GameDay comes to campus.
