WMU-Bowling Green Post Game Quotes

Coach P.J. Fleck

Opening Statement

“We have to let this one go, and move on. At times we played well and other times we didn't. This was a big game, those were two really good football teams that just played.”

On Bowling Green

“That team has been there before, they have won championships and until we have the confidence to get there it's going to be tough. That last drive, if we score there who knows but we have to be better. I thought it was well coached game on both sides, I have a lot of respect for Dino Babers. We both put a lot of stuff in the second half and each series of the second half both teams had to adjust.”

On importance of the game

“That game mattered, but in the MAC West we still control our destiny, very similar to everybody else. My goal for this football team was to make November matter and November matters just as much as it did before this game.”

On room for improvement

“We have to be better, we can't let those little dents in the armor and it starts with me, I have to be better. I thought we played the best defense we have played all year at times and the worst defense we played all year at times. That is a prolific offense we need to learn from it even if it's the hard way, but you have to give them credit as well.”

Junior receiver Corey Davis

On Bowling Green

“When you play a team as good as them you have to make plays on third down and we weren't able to execute the way we needed to.”

Senior linebacker Grant DePalma

On Bowling Green

“We played a great football team. Their skill players are unbelievable at times we could stop the run but then they would be able to throw it down field. We have to learn from our mistakes and watch the film and change our best.”

Bowling Green head coach Dino Babers

“Obviously it's a big deal for us for to go to a third straight MAC Championship game. You only get so many opportunities to play this game, some of the guys might get an opportunity at the next level but not most of them. For the seniors this is going to be one of the last times they get an opportunity to put that helmet on and to finish off the right way means something. I think we can match anyone when it comes to scoring. We are finding ways to run the football we are not going to settle on someone taking the run away. We are going to start breaking this down on the bus and get ready for the next one.”
