Broncos Split to End Fighting Illini Invitational

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Western Michigan defeated North Dakota State, 3-2, before falling to Saint Louis, 5-2 on Saturday.

Jenny Rohn hit her eighth double and Sabrina Gamboa hit her fourth home run of the season to lift the Broncos over NDSU, 3-2, to open Saturday's play at the Fighting Illini Invitational.  Erin Binkowski picked up her second win of the season, going 4.1 innings and allowing no runs and just four hits.

Western Michigan looked to make it two in a row closing out the tournament against Saint Louis but the Billikens pushed five runs across the plate in the fourth and fifth innings to spoil WMU's bid for back to back wins.  Loren Nagy had her first double of the season in the loss.  Allyson Kus allowed just two earned runs in the loss.

The Broncos return to Kalamazoo tonight only to head back on the road on March 18 to take on Valparaiso.
