WMU Softball Returns Home This Weekend

Western Michigan will close out the 2013 season on an 11-game home stand starting with a doubleheader against Ohio on Friday afternoon.

WMU SOFTBALL NEWS & NOTES
• Western Michigan suffered a series sweep at Kent State on Saturday/Sunday this past weekend to drop the Broncos to 4-8 in MAC play
• The series was the final road contests for WMU after the doubleheader at Buffalo was canceled on Friday
• Western Michigan faces Ohio (DH) on Friday and Akron on Saturday and Sunday this week at Fran Ebert Field
Melissa Palmer leads WMU in batting average (.346), on-base percentage (.406), runs scored (28), hits (45) and total bases (50)
• Four of the top seven batting averages are owned by a freshman for the Broncos
• Sophomore Jenny Rohn came back offensively in the series finale against Kent State, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate against the Golden Flashes on Sunday
• This was Rohn's seventh multi-hit game of the season, a total that ranks second on the team, and was also the third time in 2013 she had three hits in a game
