WMU vs. EMU Post Game Quotes
Sophomore Forward Marquisha Harris
On Eastern Michigan's press ...
"It was nothing we should not have been able to handle. We got to ahead of ourselves at times.
We knew where we needed to pass the ball, and we made it clear to other team
where we wanted to pass the ball.
We telegraphed our passes, which led to a lot of turnovers. "
Commenting on the missed opportunities ...
" It gets to you after awhile, when everyone is giving there
all every single play of the game it gets frustrating. You have to dig deep and we have to
pull it together. I know we can,
and we will."
Senior Guard Aurielle Anderson
Commenting on gaining the lead late in the second half...
"I thought we had it, but we just did not knock down the
shots we needed to knock down and there were some missed passes and
opportunities."
On maintaining rhythm in the game ...
" In the first half, I thought we had some rhythm even
though we were turning it over. In
the second half we started telegraphing passes. It is all things we can work on; it is the first game. I think everyone is going to take this
game to heart; it is time to turn it up.
There are a lot of games left and I want to finish strong."
Head Coach Shane Clipfell
Commenting on the game ...
"The key to the game was to value the basketball and get
defensive rebounds and we did not do that tonight. The team is frustrating at a standpoint, coming into the
game we were averaging 17 turnovers a game and we did not continue that
tonight. This points to the
inconsistent play that we have been battling all year."
On practice relating to the game ...
"Our team does work hard and they do execute and are focused
in practice. We have a tough time
translating certain scenarios from practice into the game. We practice very well, we just need to
carry that over into the game."
