WMU Softball at MSU Called in the Fourth

EAST LANSING, Mich. - With the Broncos leading Michigan State in the bottom of the fourth, the softball game between Western Michigan and the Spartans was rained out and considered a no contest.

Before the storm reached the area, the Broncos used three successive hits to put the game's lone run on the board.  Tara Buchanan got things started with a laser base hit to left field followed by an infield single for Gracie Barstad and a first pitch base hit to left field to load the bases with one out.

MSU opted for the second out of the inning when Elisha Handshoe hit the ball sharply to shortstop as pinch runner Jenny Rohn scored.

The Spartans were batting with one out in the home half of the fourth when play was suspended.

WMU closes the regular season with Northern Illinois coming to Fran Ebert Field on Saturday and Sunday.  The Broncos' senior class will be honored prior to the start of the home finale.
