PRE-GAME

  • WMU is looking for third-straight win over Ball State and second at Scheumann Stadium
  • WMU is looking for first back-to-back wins of the season
  • Tyler Van Tubbergen is making fourth career start at QB
  • WMU is outscoring opponents 77-38 in second quarter while Ball State is getting outscored 94-49
  • Ball State has allowed just three sacks in 2012; WMU had four sacks against UMass and have 17 on the season
  • WMU is wearing White jersey/Black pants combination for the first time in 2012; went 1-2 in that uniform combination in 2011 with lone win coming at UConn on Oct. 1

FIRST QUARTER

  • Antoin Scriven with 10th career one-yard TD run, ties game at 6:59 mark
  • Ball State gives up only fourth sack of the season on Paul Hazel's sack/forced fumble
  • WMU sacked Wenning twice in first quarter after Ball State gave up only three total in the first six games of the season

SECOND QUARTER

  • Van Tubbergen throws career long TD (45 yds) to Schaffer to put WMU up 14-7 40 seconds into quarter
  • TD pass was longest pass play of the season for WMU
  • WMU's fifth scoring drive of less than a minute this season
  • Brian Fields scores second rushing TD of the season (from 23 yards out) to give WMU 21-7 lead
  • WMU outscored BSU 14-3 in second quarter and have now outscored opponents 91-41 in 2nd quarter. BSU has now been outscored 108-52

THIRD QUARTER

  • Johnnie Simon with third career interception, second INT against Ball State of career
  • Dareyon Chance goes over 100 yards rushing for third time this season and for his career
  • J. Schroeder with 61 yard punt
  • WMU had outscored opponents 55-28 in the 3rd qtr coming into today; outscored by BSU 7-0
  • WMU did not run a play in Ball State territory during quarter

FOURTH QUARTER

  • Ball State has first and goal at WMU one-yard line and a false start, sack by Kyle Lark and illegal forward pass results in 45-yd FG attempt
  • It was Lark's first career sack
  • BSU holder Scott Kovanda bobbles snap on FG attempt and is tackled at WMU 35 by Lark to turn ball over on downs to the Broncos
  • Blake Hammond TD reversed and WMU misses 28-yard FG attempt by Andrew Haldeman at 7:33 mark, leading 21-17
  • Keith Wenning completes 11 yard TD pass to Jamill Smith with 50 seconds remaining to put Ball State up 24-21
  • Andrew Haldeman makes 52-yard FG as time expires to force OT
  • Fourth longest FG in program history and career long for WMU
  • WMU's first OT game since Oct. 24, 2009 (W, 34-41 vs. Buffalo)
  • WMU's first OT game against Ball State since Oct. 8, 2005 (L, 57-60 5OT)
