PRE-GAME

  • Western Michigan opened Waldo Stadium with a win over Miami (6-0) on Oct. 7, 1939
  • WMU was Miami's opponent on the day it dedicated Yager Stadium with the Broncos winning, 20-18 on Oct. 1, 1983
  • Miami is the sixth of six 2010 bowl team WMU faces on the road in 2011
  • Miami is the second defending 2010 conference champion WMU faces in 2011 (Connecticut)

  • Johnnie Simon records 100 tackles in a season for first time in career and first time for a Bronco since Louis Delmas did so in 2008
  • Four receivers finish quarter with 80 or more yards receiving

 FOURTH QUARTER

  • Robert Arnheim catches TD in a game for fourth time this season and ninth time in his career
  • Alex Carder has new single-season personal best in passing yards (3,383 at that point in game)
  • Schaffer now has new career high for reception in a game (7 at that point in the game)
  • Legrier, Nowak and Simon all have career high sacks
  • WMU has recorded seven sacks, more than double the season's previous high of three against Nicholls and at Illinois
  • Jordan White over 100 yards for eighth time this season (new record) and 19th time in career (extends own record)
  • Alex Carder is over 400 yds passing for the third straight game
  • Chleb Ravenell over 100 yds in a game for third time in 2011 and fourth time in career
  • Potter's consecutive PATs made streak extended to 117
  • WMU is bowl eligible for the fifth time in the last seven seasons
