Pregame

 

  • WMU is hosting its 88th Annual Homecoming Game. 

  • WMU is 2-0 against Bowling Green under head coach Bill Cubit. The Broncos are 4-2 in Homecoming games under Cubit. 

  • Bowling Green leads the all-time series 31-16-3.

  • Cubit's next MAC win will put him in third place in school history in conference wins. 

  • WR Jordan White carries a three-game streak of 100-plus receiving yards into today's contest. White has totaled 10-plus catches in each of those three games. 

  • White is 75 receiving yards from moving into third place for career receiving yards in school history. White is also 14 receptions from moving into third in school history. 

  • White and QB Alex Carder have combined to win the last three MAC West Player of the Week honors. 

  • Carder needs three TD passes to move into fourth place in school history (Jay McDonagh). 

  • K John Potter carries a streak of 90 consecutive PATs made into today's game.

First Quarter

 

  • WMU wins the toss and defers to the second half. WMU is 2-0 when winning the coin toss this season. 

  • Kevin Galeher with first start of season for WMU. 

  • New season-high in rushing yards for Carder. 

  • Second rushing TD of season for Carder, his eighth career. 

  • WMU has now scored first in five of its six games this season. 

  • Potter converts his 91st consecutive PAT. 

  • Potter extends his school-record to 31 tackles by a kicker. 

  • Kamar Jordan's 57-yard TD reception from Nate Schilz is his longest reception of the season. This is only the second game in which WMU has allowed a first quarter score this season. 

  • First carry of season for Tyler VanTubbergen

  • New career-high in rushing yardage for Carder. 

  • First rushing TD of season for Tevin Drake

  • Potter converts his 92nd consecutive PAT. 

  • Fourth sack of season for Freddie Bishop

  • Bowling Green has not had a drive last longer than three plays in the first quarter. The Falcons have been forced into three-and-outs on three drives and scored on a three-play drive. 

  • WMU is 3-1 when leading after the first quarter this season. 

 

 

Second Quarter

 

  • First interception of season for Falcon CB Darrell Hunter. 

  • Rushing TD by Anthon Samuel is his fourth of the season. 

  • Season-long 53-yard rush by Brian Fields

  • New season-high in rushing yards for Fields. 

  • White's 16-yard reception puts him over 3,000 career receiving yards. White is the fourth receiver in school history with 3,000-plus receiving yards. 

  • First career TD reception for Chris Prom. The TD pass is the 43rd of Carder's career. 

  • Potter converts his 93rd consecutive PAT. 

  • With a fourth-down stop of a Schilz sneak, the WMU defense has now held opponents to 3-of-10 on fourth down this season. 

  • With a 15-yard reception, White passes Jamarko Simmons for third all-time in receiving yards at WMU with 3,024 receiving yards. 

  • Carder's 9-yard TD pass to White is White's 21st career receiving TD and sixth of season. The TD pass is the 44th of Carder's career. 

  • Potter extends consecutive PATs made streak to 94. 

  • Potter now with 32 career tackles, adding to his program record. 

  • WMU is 3-1 when leading at the half this season. 

 

 

Third Quarter

 

  • WMU now with a season-high in team rushing yards. Previous high was 213 against Nicholls. 

  • Fourth straight 100-yard receiving game for White, tying Simmons' program record. White now has 16 career 100-yard receiving games, second in school history. 

  • Potter's 41-yard FG make puts him at 4-of-6 on FG attempts from 40-49 yards on the season. Potter is now 9-of-12 overall on FG attempts this season. 

  • Fields with a new season-high rushing attempts. 

  • A 9-yard reception by White gives him four straight games with 10-plus catches. 

  • WMU is now a perfect 10-for-10 on fourth down this season after a 

  • TD pass from Carder to White is Carder's 45th career TD pass, tying him with Jay McDonagh for fourth in school history. The TD reception is White's 22nd career. 

  • This is the 7th time White has scored two touchdowns in a game.

  • Potter with his 95th consecutive PAT converted. 

  • WMU is 2-0 when leading after the third quarter. 

 

 

Fourth Quarter

 

  • Season-long 51 rush by Drake puts him over 100 yards for the first-time this season and third time in his career. Drake is the first Bronco to go over 100 yards rushing this season. Drake's last 100-yard rushing performance also came against the Falcons on 11/26/10 (127 yards), which was the last time WMU had a 100-yard rusher. 

  • Drake also ties a career-high in rushing attempts. 

  • Antoin Scriven with his fourth rushing TD of the season. 

  • Potter with his 96th consecutive PAT made. 

  • This is the third straight game against Bowling Green in which the Broncos have topped the 40-point mark. 

  • First career interception for Rontavious Atkins. This is the second-consecutive game in which Atkins has forced a turnover. 

  • Mike Perish in at QB for WMU. 

  • First career carry for Nicholas Dance

 

 

Postgame 

 

  • Drake with the first 100-yard rushing performance by a Bronco this season and the first by a Bronco since Drake rushed for 127 yards against Bowling Green on 11/26/10.  Drake also tied a career-high with 10 rushing attempts. 

  • White finished the game with 233 career receptions for 3,100 career yards. White is now in third place all-time in school history in receiving yards. White also has four straight games of 10-plus catches for 100-plus yards. The four straight games of 100-plus yards tie Jamarko Simmons' program record. 

  • Carder tied Jay McDonagh for fourth in school history with 45 career touchdown passes. Carder with a career-high 95-yards rushing. 

  • Potter extends his program record of consecutive PATs made to 96. Potter also now with 32 career tackles, a school record for a kicker. 

  • With the victory, Coach Cubit now has 30 MAC wins, tied for the third in school history with Elliot Uzelac. 

  • VanTubbergen with career-highs in rushing attempts (4) and rushing yards (27). 

  • Fields with season-highs in rushing attempts (9) and yards (79). 

  • The 351 rushing yards by WMU are a season high. 

  • WMU remains perfect on fourth-down conversions this season (10-10). 

  • Atkins has now forced a turnover in two consecutive games. 

  • Career-highs in rushing attempts (7) and yards (35) for Michael Johnson
