TROY, Ala. - Western Michigan dropped a pair of games to Troy on Sunday afternoon.  The Broncos fell, 1-0, in the first game of the twin bill and fell, 4-2, in the second game.  Mandi Sayres collected three hits during the afternoon, while Michelle Bendewald and Kyla Sullivan drove in WMU's two runs.

The doubleheader began with a 1-0 victory for the Trojans as a second-inning home run held up throughout.  Western Michigan managed three hits during the game.  Mandi Sayres singled in the second and the seventh, and Lexi Jager bunted for a single in the sixth.

The Broncos stranded four base runners during the first game, including two in the opening inning when Kyla Sullivan reached on an error and Amanda Gelder was hit by a pitch.  Sullivan worked well in the circle, giving up just three hits as well.  She gave up no walks and just the one earned run.

WMU's offense came around in the top of the seventh inning of the second game.  Brittney Reist led off the inning with a base hit and later scored on Bendewald's single.  Sarah Thomas later singled and scored on Sullivan's ground out.

Western Michigan falls to 6-6 on the season and will travel back to Kalamazoo this week to prepare for its home opener on March 18.  The Broncos will take on Notre Dame in a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
