Louis Delmas Follows Suit
Senior free safety Louis Delmas received honorable mention for All-America from Pro Football Weekly. It is the second All-American honor received by the senior. Delmas, who is listed as the 18th-best overall prospect in the upcoming draft, is also listed as the third-best option at safety according to ESPN Draft Expert Mel Kiper, Jr.
Jamarko Simmons Earns Another Postseason Accolade
Senior wide receiver Jamarko Simmons, who was recently named Third Team All-America by Phil Steele's, received honorable mention for Sports Illustrated All-America.

For fans of the Brown & Gold that cannot make the trip to Houston for the 2008 Texas Bowl, there are plenty of Watch Parties scheduled throughout SW and SE Michigan, as well as across the nation.
No Rivals
Rivals.com announced its conference-by-conference All-Freshman Team and Western Michigan had five selections. The Broncos garnered an offensive and defensive selection, while also sweeping the specialists category. Linebacker Mitch Zajac and offensive tackle Anthony Parker were named to the team as were place kicker John Potter, punter Ben Armer and kick return specialist Aaron Winchester.

It was announced this week that WXMI FOX-17 will carry the 2008 Texas Bowl on Dec. 30 and it was also announced this week that Fox Sports Detroit will air a pair of Texas Bowl specials. The first, "Texas Bowl Preview" (one hour), will air Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 8 p.m., and re-air on Sunday, December 28 at 8:30 a.m. The second, "Making the Texas Bowl" (30 minutes), will air Friday, December 26 at 6:30 p.m., and re-air on Sunday, December 28 at 3:30 p.m.

Ranking System
ESPN.com's Graham Watson ranked the Non-BCS bowls earlier this month. She projected the 2008 Texas Bowl between Western Michigan and Rice to be the sixth best out of 16 choices. Rivals.com had earlier picked the Texas Bowl as the 14th-best bowl game overall, ahead of the FedEx Orange Bowl between Cincinnati and Virginia Tech.
