Coach Frank Solich on the abundance of penalties...

We had a lot of penalties in that first half, which is tough when you're trying to get a lead and build on that lead. We're plagued with penalties right now. We'll take a look at it and see where the problem is. But we didn't give ourselves a chance. In the second half we finally got some momentum and gave them a bit of a game.

On whether his team is in a tough spot at the moment...

Yeah, I'd definitely agree. But what I see right now isn't a team that's going to give up. After talking to them in the locker room I think it's going to be interesting to see how they'll respond. They're beat up, but they're not going to just give up.

On whether he's considering making a change at place kicker

I won't commit to saying that we're going to make a change, but we're going to look at it for sure.

Home Quotes:

Tim Hiller on change between first and second half:

“It was a different me that was ugly, I'm embarrassed about it to be honest.  People are doing their jobs and things we anticipated to be there were there and it was my fault (poor first half performance) I got up at half and I said guys this is my fault, I'm going to be new in the second half and I told them I will be better, and they said we will be with you.

“It was just execution, I just didn't execute well, I threw a dumb (interception) and other plays I was just a little bit off.  The good news is guys hung with me and they believed in me and we stuck together as a unit and came back in the second half.”

Hiller on Brandon West:

“He had a great day, receiving and rushing, I don't know how he stayed inbounds on that screen, it was tremendous.  I can't say enough about how hard he plays.  I know he was frustrated in the first half but we just tried to keep him positive.  He did a great job of keeping his head up.”

E.J. Biggers:

“I think our defense needs to get a little bit better, we let a lot of cheep plays stay alive.  Towards the end of the game we need to learn how to finish a little bit better.  We thank the offense a lot for keeping points on the board, but we are getting better each week and that's what we are trying to do.

Coach Cubit:

“We knew that was team that played well through out the year.  They could have just as easily been 5-0.  We had to go out there and play well.  It was rough going in the beginning, we really struggled offensively.  Then all of a sudden we made a lot of adjustments, our coaches in the box did a great job.  We got Tim in a spot to really attack them.  Defense I am really happy, we gave up those two touchdowns at the end, I wish that wouldn't have happen, but it's a learning process.  The most discouraging thing was our snap and hold, it just wasn't very good.  We are going to go back and fix that.  Our third down situation was pretty good, we contained Boo Jackson, who is a great athlete, and we beat a hard nose football team.  At the end when we had to run the clock out, we ran it and we got points.”
