Box Score

MUNCIE, Ind. ? Ball State used a late second-half surge to push past Western Michigan, 76-60, in Muncie, Ind., on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos (7-9, 0-2 MAC) will look to get back on the winning track, hosting West Division rival Eastern Michigan on Jan. 10.

Entering the second period trailing by five, 35-30, WMU battled back to stake a second-half lead, but Ball State's (11-2, 2-0) post play proved to be too much down the stretch. There were a total of 10 lead changes on the afternoon in a back-and-forth battle until the end.

Western Michigan took its last lead, 48-46, at 11:56, when Amanda Parker connected on her third three of the evening. The Cardinals then went on a 22-5 run over the next seven minutes, building a 68-53 lead.

WMU's Carrie Moore lead all scorers with 17 points, and moved into second place on the Broncos' all-time career scoring list, passing Kina Brown along the way.

Lindsey Brown tallied her third double-double in the last four games, recording 16 points and 14 rebounds. Parker chipped in her second-highest point total of the season, netting 14. Tiera DeLaHoussaye dished out seven assists, marking the ninth time she has recorded six or more assists in a game this season.

Eight players scored for Ball State, and four Cardinals reached double-digits. Lisa Rusche scored a team-high 15 points, 11 of those coming in the second half.
