WMU GAME NOTES

 

-- Freshman running back Brandon West started his first career game

-- Quarterback Ryan Cubit returned to the starting lineup after missing the last two games with a finger injury

-- Cornerback E.J. Biggers intercepted his first career pass in the second quarter

-- The Broncos have intercepted at least one pass in every game this season and 13-of-15 under head coach Bill Cubit

-- Cubit threw his first touchdown pass of the season in the second quarter

-- Cory Flom's FG block in the second quarter was his third of the season and the fourth of his career; he is now WMU's all-time leader in blocked kicks and tied for the single-season record (Paul Moersch-2005)

-- Londen Fryar has now scored touchdowns this season on an interception return (vs. Toledo) and blocked FG return (tonight)

-- The Broncos have scored at least one defensive or special teams touchdown in three straight games and they have scored eight total under head coach Bill Cubit

-- Mark Bonds has scored a rushing touchdown in every game this season and tonight is the first two touchdown game of his career

-- Herb Martin (Juco transfer) scored his first Division I touchdown in the third quarter

-- The Broncos have won the turnover battle in 11-of-15 games under head coach Bill Cubit, including a 4-1 advantage tonight; WMU is 9-2 in those games

-- Matt Buskirk, freshman walk-on linebacker from Paw Paw, Mich., made his first career interception in the fourth quarter

-- Redshirt freshman quarterback Caleb Clark through his first collegiate pass

-- Junior Mike Jones kicked his first career field goal in the fourth quarter

 

TEMPLE GAME NOTES

 

-- Jason Harper's 35-yard run in the first quarter was a career-long; his 84 total yards rushing are also a career-high

-- Quarterback Vaughn Charlton started his first career game

-- Temple scored its first touchdown of the season on Harper's 11-yard run in the third quarter

-- Bruce Francis' 28-yard reception in the third quarter was a career-long
