Summary of Current Role:
Capers aims to empower and holistically develop student athletes and alums. Leads overall life skills programming for all student-athletes in the areas of personal, career, and leadership development. He also provides mental wellness and NIL resources. He facilitates a yearlong leadership academy which student-athletes can enhance their leadership abilities on and off the field of play.

Career Highlights:
Capers is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA): Education & Professional Development Committee. He also recently participated in the 2023 NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop and at the 2024 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.

Personal:
At Grand Valley State, Capers was a four-year member of the indoor and outdoor men's track and field team. Capers is a five-time NCAA DII All-American and former team captain. He is still the school record holder in the indoor 400 meters and 4x400-meter relay, while previously setting the school record in the outdoor 400 meters, 4x100-meter relay, and 4x400-meter relay.
