Steve Shimko was named the director of player personnel for the WMU football program during the spring of 2014.

Shimko came to the Broncos from his alma mater, Rutgers University, serving as a player development coach and player assistant coach, holding those roles from 2011 through 2013 under former head coach Greg Schiano and current head coach Kurt Flood.

Shimko played as a quarterback with the Scarlet Knights from 2008-11 when he participated in both the Papa John's Bowl and the St. Petersburg Bowl.
