Kristi Strange joined the WMU softball coaching staff in 2008 after serving as a member of the team for four seasons. Strange’s duties include working with hitters as well as assisting the Bronco outfield defense.

Strange is the Western Michigan record holder for doubles in a game (3), season (23) and career (42). Her 23 double-baggers in 2006 are also a Mid-American Conference record.

She ended her career in 2007, earning Academic All-MAC honors after being named a member of the 2006 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar Athlete All-America Team.

The Canby, Ore., native also holds the distinction of being the only WMU softball student-athlete to earn MAC Freshman of the Year honors, doing so in 2004.

Strange ended her career with a .288 batting average, 130 hits, 45 runs scored, 58 RBI, 42 doubles and eight home runs. She ranks third in career home runs along with the career doubles record.
