Kayleigh Conlon 2023 Headshot

Kayleigh Conlon

Kayleigh Conlon enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Bronco track and field program in 2025-26, working primarily with the throws group.

In her third season, the throws group had another successful season in indoor and outdoor competition. During the indoor season, her group tallied 50% of the teams points at the MAC Championships. For the outdoor season, Bri'Yanna Robinson was able to earn Second Team All-MAC honors, while Lane Hagens and Tess Van Dyk each scored at the league meet. Robinson would finish her season at the NCAA East Preliminaries, claiming 23rd in the East Region.

In the classroom, Hagens, Robinson and Van Dyk were Academic All-MAC honorees during the indoor and outdoor seasons. Hagens and Van Dyk would then go on to be named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees.

Conlon saw her group take steps forward in her second season, as Bri'Yanna Robinson became the school's shot put record holder in both the indoor and outdoor record book. She also holds a top-10 mark in the weight throw. Along with that, her group had two reach the podium during the indoor MAC season, with Robinson and Lane Hagens earning third and sixth, respectively, in the shot put at the MAC Championships.

During the outdoor season, Conlon's group was able to produce even better results, helping the team to its best finish since 2014 at the Outdoor MAC Championships. Her group was able to post 16 points, aided by three podium finishers in the shot put (Robinson, Tess Van Dyk and Hagens). Additionally, Robinson was able to nab a podium finish in the discus at the league meet, while Van Dyk cracked the program's top 10 in the event earlier in the year. Robinson went on to make the NCAA East Preliminaries in the shot put. She finished 41st in the region.

In the classroom, Conlon's group continues to excel. During the 2023-24 academic year, the group had six Academic All-MAC selections and three College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees.

In her first year with the Broncos, Conlon had four athletes make the final the 2023 MAC Track and Field Championships and had two athletes earn Academic All-MAC honors. Additionally, Elli Stender posted the sixth best javelin mark in program history and Tess Van Dyk scored in the discus in her first ever MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship appearance.

As a student-athlete at Southern Illinois University (2017-2022), Conlon was an MVC champion in the Shot Put (2020), earned 4 All-MVC honors, and was a 3x NCAA West Regional qualifier.  She also cracked the top-ten list in the indoor and outdoor shot put for the Salukis, joining some of the greatest throwers to go through the program. Conlon earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from SIU where she also obtained a minor in Coaching.

Conlon has gained coaching experience through multiple throws camps put on by SIU as well as participating in a coaching practicum under direct supervision of her former coach, JC Lambert.
