Blake Hextall was named director of hockey operations for the 2013-14 season after spending three seasons as an assistant to the WMU hockey staff from 2010-13.
Hextall, who has a long family history in hockey with his uncle, Ron Hextall, currently serving as the general manager for the Philadelphia Flyers, is a graduate student studying sports management at WMU. His great grandfather, Bryan Hextall, played with the New York Rangers. His grandfather, Bryan Jr., played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and his uncle played for the Philadelphia Flyers before moving into the front office. Blake is expected to graduate from Western Michigan in the Spring of 2016.
Blake graduated from Pinckney Community High School in 2010.
