Tracy Daniel

Tracy earned her bachelor's degree in physical education at Western Michigan University in 1987. She earned her master's degree in physical education (sport psychology emphasis) at WMU in 1992. Tracy played volleyball and softball for the Broncos and is the only female athlete to play on MAC championship teams in both sports (volleyball '82 and softball '86). She was an All-Conference second baseman and All-Academic team honoree in 1985.
 
Tracy retired after 30 years as a teacher and coach for Comstock Public Schools in 2018. Coach Daniel started the girl's golf program at Comstock High School in 2002 eventually leading the team to the Wolverine Conference championship and served as chair of the golf coaches for six years. She was the varsity softball coach from 1988-2000 and compiled an overall record of 262-148 with a 125-47 record in conference play while leading the team to conference championships in 1990, 1993, and 1996. Tracy also coached varsity and junior varsity tennis at Comstock for 11 years and has seven years of experience as a volleyball coach at Comstock and Portage Northern. She earned multiple conference, district, and regional coach of the year honors in golf and softball. She has taken several teams and players to multiple state championships in all sports.

In addition to coaching, Tracy served as an intercollegiate (including MAC) volleyball official for six years and a high school volleyball official for 11 years.
 
Tracy was an inaugural inductee to the Portage Northern High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000 before being inducted into the Portage Northern Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2001. she will be inducted in the Comstock High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. She was inducted into the Western Michigan University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2010, Tracy was named the Michigan Secondary Physical Education Teacher of the Year. She was awarded the WMU Golden Apple Award in 2018, the Wolverine Conference Distinguished Service Award in 2014, was an honorary inductee to the WMU Human Performance & Health Education Honor Academy in 2011, and received multiple excellence in education grants and awards throughout her years teaching.
Tracy has earned Level 1 certification through the Titleist Performance Institute (Toronto) and is a certified First Tee instructor working with Dean Marks in the Kalamazoo Junior Golf Association since 2009.
 
Tracy Daniel joined the Kalamazoo College coaching staff as an assistant golf coach in August of 2019.
