Mikayla Barnard enters her first season as a student manager for the WMU softball program in 2023.

Barnard appeared in six games, starting two, in the circle for Western Michigan in 2022. She pitched a total of 14.0 innings for the Broncos and racked up five strikeouts in her six appearances. Barnard's longest outing of the season was a four-inning relief effort against Niagara, during which she did not allow an earned run.
